Day 31 – August 3rd – Cow Head (Gros Morne)

Day 31 – August 3rd  – Cow Head (Gros Morne)

We woke up to a warm but windy morning.  The name of the Park is Sea Breeze, I now understand why.  The wind here is constant, last night it blew at probably 20 knotts all night with wind gust probably up to 30! (estimated on my part).  Sure does keep the bugs down J.

Vance "Duded Out" in his finest biking fashions
We decided today was going to be laundry and cleanup day at both Chateau Titanium and Chateau Landmark. With noon closing in we thought we would take the bikes off the racks and go for lunch via two wheels instead of four.

It was a very short ½ mile ride to the Shallow Bay Motel Restaurant where we enjoyed very good pizza.  Took the rest back to the rigs and started on a little bike ride out to “The Head” and lighthouse.  We started up the trail on the bikes and soon found it would be better to walk.  Diane and Joan continued on foot while Vance and I returned to the trailhead via the bikes.
Trail was getting too narrow for bikes.

Same Lighthouse as five years ago

A view from the trailhead over Cow Head and Shallow Bay
Vance decided to wait for the ladies while I biked back to the RV park and started to wash the nose of the Ti and the truck.  This campground allowed us to wash our vehicles!

A short time later Diane, Joan and Vance returned.  Diane had taken some pictures of the same lighthouse that we saw 5 years ago when we were here with Ron and Jacquie.  Another one of those, “Both Diane and I remember the lighthouse, but do not remember being here” moments”.

Vance Cleaning Up the Ford (I had already done the GMC)

Yup, Iceberg Beer from the Quidi Vidi Brewery
Made with 25,000 year old water from Icebergs!
Tastes Pretty Good! and nice colour bottle!
The cleaning continued until the Happy Hour bell rang; down tools!!  We sat outside with the breeze blowing and just enjoyed the late afternoon.

Very relaxing day with lots accomplished.
